Nagarjunasagar dam:

One of the most famous weekend getaway destination for the folks of Hyderabad, Nagarjuna sagar dam is at a mere distance of 164kms from the city. As the name suggests, this is a 125m high dam, built across the Krishna River. You can expect the dam gates to be open during the monsoon season i.e. during the months of September and October. There is boating available there, you can visit the nagarjuna konda on a boat. There are a few other places that can be coupled to this, on your one day trip.

Bidar:

Situated in the state of Karnataka, at a distance of 147kms from Hyderabad. Known for its historic forts, which are now in ruins, this place makes for a classic weekend getaway from Hyderabad. This makes for a perfect photoshoot destination. Bring out the photographer in you. The ruins of the fort, the architectural marvel, the muddy brown background, will give you some really amazing pictures. Pay a visit to the Bidar Fort, Bahmani Tombs, Khwaja Mahmud Gawan Madrasa and Choukhandi. You can ride to this destination, as a road trip. Warangal:

This place is most famous as a weekend getaway from Hyderabad, due to its mesmerizing architecture. You can visit the majestic Warangal fort, the Bhadrakali temple, thousand pillar temple, and the ramappa temple. If you choose to travel on your own, then you can also include many other places of interest to visit, like, kolanupaka jain temple, Pembarti, Jangaon and many such places. You can plan an ideal road trip with your friends.

Mahbubnagar:

This place is widely recognised, as this was the place, the famous “Kohinoor Diamond” was discovered. This place is home to a 700 year old banyan tree. A lot of people visit this amazing place, which does not take much time, as it is less than 1.5hrs drive from the city centre. There are a lot of beautiful temples around the place that can be paid a visit. Make the most of your visit here, by leaving early, so as to avoid the traffic.

Srisailam:

A set of caves consisting of Mallikarjuna Temple, Srisailam Dam, IshtaKameshwari temple, Mallela Theertham and Akkamahadevi Caves is a few hours away from Hyderabad. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoon season, between june to march. The place is pretty inexpensive and is very well suited for budget travellers. In no more than 1500 Rs, you can get a decent place to stay along with food and other necessities. Enjoy an amazing weekend at Srisailam with your buddies.

Nizamabad:

A notable tourist attraction in the state of Telangana, Nizamabad makes for an ideal bike ride from Hyderabad. You can go on one adventurous ride, by getting a superbike on rent in Hyderabad. There is an old kanteshwar temple believed to be around 500 years old. Explore this off-beat destination by trekking around the place. This has a marvellous architecture, combined with natural scenic beauty.
